Young the Giant

Young the Giant is an American indie rock band that was formed in Irvine, California in 2004. Formerly known as the Jakes, Young the Giant, writes melodic rock-n-roll tunes bound for greatness.
The band members are Sameer Gahia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass) and Francois Comtois (drummer). The bandmates met each other in high school, following graduation the guys joined forces to form Young the Giant. Young the Giant's sound can be described as a summery sound that makes you think of walking on the beach while the sun is setting. Or sitting around a bon fire at the beach singing songs and making s'mores. The bands singles "My Body", "Cough Syrup" and "It's About Time" reached the top five of the US Alternative Songs chart. "Mind over Matter", Young the Giant's second album was released the beginning of this year. Songs such as "It's About Time" show a heavier, more mature sound for Young the Giant, than the soft, beachy sound of the debut album.
