Window Shopping

Last weekend two of my friends and I ventured to a local boutique called Box Turtle. It is a cute shop located in a beautiful neighborhood. It was a relaxing trip especially because it was the weekend before finals and it was nice to have a little break from studying. Plus spending time with friends is always more appealing than a date with a textbook. This boutique was originally a home that was built probably around the 50's or 60's by the look of the building. (the stairs were really creaky) The lighting in the store was pretty amazing because there are tons of windows to allow the natural light in. The overall ambiance and decor of the store is bohemian chic. The clothing in the store had a Free People, Urban Outfitters vibe. Also most of the clothing in the store are local or independent labels. Here are a few pictures of my visit to the Box Turtle!

Have you been to any cool shops lately?

With a dash of mint green

I am going to wear light cardigans as long as I can get away with it. I am a big fan of layering. I feel like I have to layer to complete my look. If you haven't noticed already I love wearing tights and sweaters. I could seriously wear them everyday no matter what season. Unfortunately I live in the south and it apparently looks strange when you wear tights in the summer. But I don't care! I also like to mix patterns and wear colors that break rules, like wearing brown and black. I decided to accomplish one of my spring bucket list tasks and incorporate more colors in to my wardrobe. I tend to wear a lot of neutrals so I decided to spruce this look up with a "dash of mint green."

Floral Friday!

Today is a great day! I am officially done with classes and next week is finals week and graduation! Also in a few weeks I am going to Nashville with my sister to see one of my favorite UK bands, Bombay Bicycle Club! May is going to be a great month, I am so excited. At the moment I am obsessed with the floral print. I have been buying dresses and tops with this print. Also this entire outfit was thrifted and is under $30. I love shopping on a budget and finding things that are unique. You don't have to spend a lot of money to be in style and dress on trend. You can also find quality pieces that will last you for a long time. I am thinking about writing a "thrifting tips" post in the future.

Vintage Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Lovelies!

Its a perfect 75 degrees today and the skies are clear! Its about time for warmer weather and I am so excited! The weather is on point today. As you all know I love spring and today is amazing. :) I decided to pull out a vintage top that I bought last year and give it a spin. I paired it with a dress I thrifted and my urban outfitters skinnies. (skinny jeans lol!)  Well that's all I have for now!

Since it was Earth Day yesterday I decided to enjoy the afternoon outside!

What did you guys do for Earth Day?

How to De-Stress Your Life

I have a lot going on right now and I get stressed easily; I have been feeling really tired and frustrated lately. Sometimes it makes you want to quit or just give up and not try anymore. I know that is not the answer and it will only make matters worse. Whenever you feel stressed you have to continue on and conquer whatever is set before you. You also should find things to help you de-stress during times like these. Here a few list of things I think will help anyone de-stress.

1. Take a Time-Out: You don't necessarily have to take a nap or a siesta to get the benefits of a good rest. If you are at work or school, rest your forehead on your arms for a minute. I wouldn't suggest taking a nap, but take a little break. If you are in class continue to listen to the teacher but change your sitting position to allow your body to relax. Whatever you do just take a moment, breathe deeply, and relax.
2.Work-out: Working out is a great way to relieve the tension in your life. This doesn't mean sign up for an intensive boot camp program. Pace yourself! Find a moderately-intense program like running or walking. It will improve your mood and help you feel less stressed.
3. Listen to Music: Listening to soothing music can be very relaxing and calming. It can actually slow down an individuals breathing, heart rate, lower blood pressure, relax tense muscle and calm one's state of mind. I particularly like to listen to groovy tunes too! I takes your mind off what is stressing you out and adds a little fun and entertainment to your day! (I feel like another playlist is in the works...)
4. Watch Something funny: One of the best and entertaining ways to relieve stress is to laugh. You always feel better when you have had a good laugh. It is hard to think about the stresses of life while you are laughing. Watch a funny viral video on Youtube or watch a funny movie! Whatever you do just laugh! :)
5. Go Outside: Get some fresh air and let the sunlight hit your face. I guarantee you will feel much better. Instead of eating at the office go to a restaurant/cafe and eat on their outdoor patio. Sunlight can improve your mood and make you feel better. So go out and get some Vitamin D! :)
6. Drink Green Tea: Not only does green tea taste good but it contains theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation. But be careful, green tea stimulates the effects of caffeine. Avoid drinking other caffeinated beverages because caffeine can actually worsen the stress levels.

7. Spend Time with Friends: Spending time with friends is a great way to relax. Whether you're laughing and playing a board game or having a catch-up session over coffee. Spending time with friends can help you talk about your feelings, relax and overall feel less stressed.
8. Go for a Long Drive: If you love to drive, then going for a long drive can help you relax and feel more control in your life. Take the roads early in the morning or late at night when there is less traffic or people driving. This will make you feel calmer and empowered.
9. Read a Book: Reading is a fantastic way to relax, especially before bed. Try to shut of all the noise in an hour before bed and take the time to read something. Reading is also a great way to start your day and feel alert and ready!

Hope this was helpful!
Happy Earth Day, lovelies!

How to Wear: High Waisted Jeans

I pretty much wear dresses and skirts everyday. Jeans are not my go to item of clothing. I bought a pair of high waisted jeans months ago to try and spruce up my wardrobe. For some reason, I always have a hard time pairing things with it. Maybe because styling dresses and skirts has become an easy way out when it comes to my personal style. I don't know. Well here is one way I wear high waisted jeans!

Thrift Finds

Yesterday after class, I decided to go shopping and see if I could find any hidden jewels. I am a week away from finals and graduating, so I feel a little stressed. There is something about thrifting that is relaxing to me. I love looking through endless clothing racks (with widely different clothing pieces) and finding something that looks like me. It's a Eureka moment, I love it! Here are a few things that I found yesterday!

I should go I am running late for my next class but I just had to send this post!
Happy Friday, lovelies!

Coachella Playlist

I could sit and write a whole post about how much I want to go to Coachella. Oh how it hurts, when I see pictures/videos of Coachella on social media. Ha... I don't want to complain about my absence and bore you guys to death. Since the closest I can get to Coachella is in my dreams. I thought I would create a list of artists I would love to see that are playing. So here's my Coachella playlist enjoy!
